Training at Lake District Hotels

At Lake District Hotels, we place great emphasis on providing a broad scope of training to our teams. We believe in equipping our employees with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in their roles. Here are some of the training opportunities we offer:

Introduction to Lake District Hotels and enrolment on Flow Hospitality: Upon joining our team, new employees are introduced to our family business and enrolled in Flow Hospitality, a leading training platform. This platform offers a wide range of compliance training modules, including Health & Safety, Food Safety, Fire Safety, Licensing, and Allergens.

On-the-Job Training with Trainers: We understand the importance of hands-on experience. To ensure our new starters gain confidence in their roles, they receive on-the-job training with one of our experienced trainers. These trainers serve as buddies, guiding and supporting the new employees throughout their training period.

Supplier-Led Training: We collaborate with various suppliers to provide specialised training sessions. Recent examples include Cellar Management, Barista Training, Lakes Distillery product training (covering Vodka, Gin, and Whiskey), Thatcher’s Cider and Estrella perfect pour and cellar management training, Wine training with Grapevine, Whitley Nell training on Gin production and perfect serves, and Dead Mans Fingers training into Rum production and serving.

APPRENTICESHIPS & ACCREDITATIONS

Apprenticeships: We offer apprenticeship programs that cover a range of levels and roles. These include Level 2 Commis Chef and Hospitality, Level 3 Hospitality Supervisors, Level 4 Culinary Chef, Level 5 Operations Manager, and Level 6 Chartered Management Degree. These apprenticeships provide valuable opportunities for learning and professional growth.

Ad Hoc Accredited Training:In addition to the above, we also provide ad hoc accredited training courses. Some examples include WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) Level 1 and 2, Welcome Host, Emergency First Aid at Work, Health & Safety Level 2, Food Safety Level 2, Personal License, and Cellar Management.

We are dedicated to investing in the development of our employees and creating a learning culture within our organisation.
