A Step into Another World
A visit to Cumbria's newest attraction. Enjoy a meal at the Skiddaw Hotel prior or after a visit to the Rheged Discovery Centre. This visitor attraction is named after Cumbria's Celtic Kingdom and is Europe's largest grass covered building with a variety of fascinating shops, exhibitions and demonstrations throughout the day. The centre boasts Europe's largest cinema screen (as big as 8 double-decker buses) showing large format movies such as Everest, the Lost Kingdom and

A Visit to a Stately Home and Gardens
Mirehouse is only a 10 minute journey from the Skiddaw Hotel and is well worth a visit. Get a feel for the "Upstairs downstairs" era and admire this lovely house owned by the Spedding family dating back to 1666. On many days Mr. Spedding takes delight in showing the visitors around himself and his memories and the history of the house
are fascinating. Take a stroll around the beautiful gardens and woodland and return to Keswick and the Skiddaw Hotel for refreshments.
